Inclusions:

  • The tour package includes (as priced) all lodging, meals*, and access fees to reserves, parks, and other birding sites.

  • Premier Bird Guide: All of our tours use the services of excellent local bird guides, often a well-recognized expert on birding in this area.

  • Top-Rated Preparation Services: We support your preparation for the trip. We provide information on the birds you will see and all the travel details, including all logistic details (arrival plans, trip itinerary, lodging details, and more), information on entry into Australia and information on travel health issues, packing information, and more. Most of our clients comment that our Trip Participation Guide is the best they have ever seen. These custom birding tour modules for Australia require additional support for scheduling, planning, and building group consensus, and these services are built into the tour price.

  • Transport and Airport Transfers

    • Local ground transport is included. This includes a large transport van for most of the trip and jeeps in some locations.

    • We support airport transfers (whether from an international flight or a domestic flight). No matter your transfer plans, we arrange the best way to get you to and from the airport to your first hotel.

    • Flight costs for international and internal (to Australia) flights are not included. We book internal flights at cost and charge you the true cost of the flight.

  • Acre for Bird Conservation: As part of our efforts to support bird conservation, we purchase in the name of customers (for each booking) at least one acre (but averaging between three and four acres) of wilderness to support bird conservation.

  • Small-Group PricingAll the prices mentioned above are for tour groups of seven or eight participants.  We will offer reasonable small-group supplements for group sizes of 4 to 6.

  • Private and Custom Group Pricing: We are glad to provide pricing for smaller groups (including couples) or custom groups.

Additions to Basic Trip Pricing:

  • Most of our Australian groups start their tour in Brisbane, and most tour participants fly from their home country to Brisbane to start the tour.

  • Most clients continue from Brisbane to Cairns, Darwin, and/or Hobart for additional Australian birding. Most internal flights cost about $110 to $260 US Dollars per flight (based on our 2024 experience), with most tour participants averaging about $180 US Dollars for each leg of their internal (to Australia) flights. We prefer to book these flights (so the group is on the same flight), and we book these flights at your cost.

*Pricing Notes and More Details:

  • Main Trip Price Fixed in Australian Dollars: The trip price is fixed in Australian Dollars (AUD). The final invoice will be based on exchange rates charged by our banks.

  • US Dollar and GBP Pricing: Our 2026 (and late 2025) price estimates are mostly based on Australian Dollars (AUD) for Australian tours. We suspect world tariffs will go back down and these exchange rates will again favor US Dollar holders (these prices are based on 100 AUD costing about 62 US Dollars and 100 AUD costing about 48 GBP/British Pounds). These are the exchange rates on April 11 in 2025, and we suspect they will improve (after global trading practices normalize). (1) Before a tour is put on go, we will discuss with clients the current exchange rate situation. (2) We will bill actual exchange rates that we actually pay.

  • Note on Meal Inclusion: Meals include three meals per day during any full day of the trip. Most arrival days include supper.

  • Note on Beverage Inclusion: We provide water during the birding day, and the guide keeps the cooler well supplied.

Optional Costs for Booking the Trip:

Single Room Supplement: If you want a single room, please let us know. We are often able to find a roommate for those wanting to share a room with a person of the same sex.

  •  2,500 AUD FOR 17 NIGHTS (about $1,560 USD or about 1,230 GBP) for the SE Queensland and North Queensland main tours.

  • Singles for Northern TERRITORY MODULE for 6 nights runs 1,200 AUD (or about $750 US Dollars or about 590 GBP)
