Trip Description
Thirteen days of birding around Costa Rica, with several options for extensions before or after the trip. See lush rainforests, high mountain ranges, coastal swamps and more, all filled with the abundant birdlife this region is well known for. The varied insects, wildlife, scenery, and vegetation make for a very interesting trip. You will be taken through a wide sampling of habitats by an experienced local guide to optimize your birding. Local food will be provided at mealtimes so you can sample some of the fresh grown produce you see every day. Expect plesant weather all year round.

Day 1: Arrivals in San José and Transfer to Hotel
Day 2: Departure to the Central Pacific Coast
Day 3: Early Morning Boat Tour, Afternoon in Carara National Park
Day 4: AM Pacific Birding, Then Transfer to Monteverde, PM Birding in Monteverde
Day 5: AM in Curi-cancha Reserve, Afternoon at Santa Elena Reserve
Day 6: Departure to Arenal Volcano, Birding Along the Way
Day 7: Full Day Birding at Arenal Volcano National Park
Day 8: AM in Arenal and Transfer to Caribbean Rainforest
Day 9: Caribbean Lowlands and Birding at La Selva Biological Station
Day 10: AM in SarapiquÃ, Afternoon Drive to Caño Negro
Day 11: Caribbean Wetlands Boat Tour, Birding Caño Negro
Day 12: Birding Cordillera Central on way to San José
Day 13: International Flights Home from San Jose.
